We recognized the viability of a 30k SF self storage facility located in a developing mixed use neighborhood along the SOMA corridor - one block from the AirBnB and Pintrest headquarters. In addition, the current zoning laws provided the option to re-position such facilities as retail and/or certain types of office spaces.
In 2014, we acquired the self-storage facility and employed a hands-on/active approach to management by leveraging the expertise of StoragePro.
We converted a small 2nd floor office space into 8 new storage units and pursued a potential storage densification plan which would add roughly 100 new storage units to the facility.
