Opportunity

MissionGO is a Maryland company focused on increasing access to organ transplantation by optimizing a currently inefficient, costly and opaque transplant supply chain. TLI is led by Dr. Joseph Scalea, an inventor and transplant surgeon with the University of Maryland, Baltimore who oversees the largest pancreas-kidney transplant program in the United States. In 2019, Dr. Scalea led a team in the transportation and transplant of the first-ever organ moved by drone. The team is also led by CEO of War Horse Cities, Scott Plank and Anthony Pucciarella, a retired U.S. Navy Commander serving as a Patrol Plane Mission Commander, Operational Test Pilot, VIP Pilot, and Aviation Engineering Duty Officer (AEDO).

Approach

MissionGO's primary product, MediGO, uses real-time monitoring of organ transportation including location, temperature and environmental factors that inform logistics decisions. This system will increase transplant access and reduce transplant waste through real-time point-to-point transplant tracking. MediGO is also saving lives through centralized, in-app communication systems for surgeons and other medical personnel, as well as accurate estimated time-of-arrival-predictions.

Results

Innovative drone transport will allow for on-demand organ access, decreasing transport time, improving safety, decreasing cost and improving quality. It's moving organs, smarter. The Alaris Video Command Center (VCC) offers a cost-effective way to transmit video from the field to leadership and stakeholders off-site to perfect manned and unmanned aviation, engineering, systems and airspace integration. With Alaris and MediGO's proven capabilities, MissionGO will provide the technology and data to transform organ transportation.
