Preakness Wind Down Party: Warhorse

Feats partnered again with Scott Plank, Principal at War Horse, LLC, and Spike Gjerde, Baltimore restaurateur (Woodberry Kitchen, Shoo-Fly Diner) to throw the second annual post-Preakness party at Belvedere Square Market in North Baltimore. A little rain and cooler temps didn’t affect our ability to create a stylish and fun event for guests.

For the inaugural event in 2014, we reimagined the market parking lot, turning it into a “wind down” lounge following the 139th Preakness, carefully integrating the new marketplace exterior and interior. More than 300 guests gathered at the unique event venue to continue the festivities of the day. The lounge featured casual seating around a firepit, comfortable couches bordering a large dance floor, and a central bar complete with a unique Pimlico cupola. A highlight of the evening was the custom Davidoff cigar bar. Spike Gjerde and his team provided Maryland-centric cuisine including freshly made sausages, oysters, and local craft beers. The event in part focused on bringing awareness to the Oyster Recovery Partnership. The guests, including Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, danced into the evening to the sounds of a 1940s swing band.
